From the Village of Fox River Grove:

Village of Fox River Grove is Partnering with a Developer for Downtown Block

FOX RIVER GROVE – The Village of Fox River Grove is pleased to announce that it has selected the Harlem Irving Group and Hamilton Partners to work on a mixed-use project for the block at the heart of the Village’s downtown.

This key block, often referred to “Block B”, extends from Lincoln Avenue to Illinois Street along Northwest Highway across from the Village’s Metra station.

At his February 21st State of the Village address to the Cary-Grove Area Chamber of Commerce, Mayor Marc McLaughlin shared this announcement, as well as initial conceptual information about the project with over forty area business owners and community members present.

At this stage, the project is expected to include 7,000 square feet of commercial space, as well as 100 apartments and parking.

Once a final concept is determined, the developer will proceed through the Village’s zoning process for this planned unit development (PUD), which includes a minimum of one public hearing at the Planning and Zoning Commission and most likely two public meetings with the Village Board.

The Village will work through a redevelopment agreement (RDA) with the developer concurrently to the zoning process for efficiency purposes and to provide the developer with the opportunity to break ground as soon as possible, which optimistically could occur as early as the Fall of this year.

“We are excited about the opportunity to work with developers like the Harlem Irving Group and Hamilton Partners in Fox River Grove,” said Village President Marc McLaughlin.

“This group has a proven track record in the Northwest Suburbs, and we are confident that they will be successful in bringing to market a project that will help transform downtown Fox River Grove.”
