Structure Fire – 5050 Rickert Rd
Crystal Lake, IL – The Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department responded to a reported machine fire at 10:29 a.m. at 5050 Rickert Rd. [Kitty-corner across from the Pingree Train Station.]
The first fire units arrived on scene in approximately 5 minutes and reported a growing fire with worsening smoke conditions inside the production facility.
The business had been evacuated as fire crews arrived and began fire suppression operations.
There were no injuries on the scene to business occupants or firefighters.
Several area departments responded to assist Crystal Lake Fire Rescue through Auto Aid Agreements.
The fire loss was stopped in under half an hour.
The business valued the property loss at $25,000 for the machinery.
Fire suppression efforts prevented damage/loss to the structure.
Power and gas were disconnected to the property at the time of the fire.
The fire remains under investigation.
