From the Algonquin Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District:
STRUCTURE FIRE, ZANGE DRIVE, ALGONQUIN
On Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at approximately 11:35 pm, the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was dispatched for a house fire in a single-family home in the 900 block of Zange Drive in Algonquin.

First arriving fire crews arrived on the scene in under three minutes and found a two-story home with fire showing from the second floor windows, with all occupants out of the home.
Crews initiated an aggressive interior fire attack to the involved structure and located a fire on the second floor in the bathroom and hallway.
The fire was brought under control in 15 minutes, and additional crews remained on the scene completing overhaul, addressing hotspots, and conducting an investigation.
One of the occupants from the home was treated and transported to Northwestern Huntley with minor burns.
The Algonquin – Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was aided by the Algonquin Police Department, Huntley Fire Protection District, and SEECOM Dispatch Center.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
The home is inhabitable [?] due to fire and smoke damage.
