Crash on Kishwaukee Valley Road
A 19-year-old Poplar Grove woman, a 22-year-old Poplar Grove man, and a 37-year-old Belvidere man were injured following a three-vehicle crash in the 15200 block of Kishwaukee Valley Road in unincorporated Woodstock within Seneca Township.
On Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 4:18 p.m. the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, Woodstock Fire & Rescue District, and Marengo Fire & Rescue District responded to a three-vehicle crash on Kishwaukee Valley Road in unincorporated Woodstock within Seneca Township.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox was stopped eastbound on Kishwaukee Valley Road, waiting to make a left turn into a driveway when a 2000 Ford Van, traveling eastbound, failed to stop and struck the left rear of the Chevrolet.
The Ford then entered the westbound lane where it struck a westbound 2019 Honda CRV head-on.
The 19-year-old driver of the Ford was transported by ambulance to Northwestern Medicine Woodstock Hospital and airlifted to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville where she is listed in critical condition.
The 22-year-old passenger in the Ford was transported to Northwestern Medical Huntley Hospital and is listed in good condition.
The 62-year-old female driver of the Chevrolet was not injured.
The 37-year-old driver of the Honda was transported to Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital where he is listed in good condition.
The investigation remains ongoing by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Traffic Crash Investigation Unit.

Serious Crash on Kishwaukee Valley Road
On Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 4:18 p.m., the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District was dispatched to the 15200 block of Kishwaukee Valley Road in unincorporated Woodstock for a reported vehicle crash.

While en route, additional 911 callers reported that a vehicle was smoking with the driver trapped inside, prompting an upgraded response for entrapment.

Firefighters arrived within six minutes and found a three-vehicle crash with heavy damage.

One driver was entrapped, and two other individuals had sustained serious injuries.
Due to the number of patients, an additional ambulance was requested from the Marengo Fire & Rescue Districts to assist on scene.

Crews worked in coordination for nearly 30 minutes to extricate an adult female driver.

Once freed, she was transferred to an awaiting medical helicopter at Northwestern Medicine Woodstock Hospital and airlifted to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with critical injuries.
A passenger and another driver were transported by ambulance to local hospitals with serious injuries.

The third driver involved declined medical attention.
At the time of this incident, the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District was also handling other calls for service.
