Election night, McHenry County Blog reported the results of balloting.
The biggest news was the convincing loss in Algonquin Township of the slate of candidates put up by Supervisor Randy “My Way or the Highway” Funk.
Or, maybe it was the victory of those Trustees (the “Spice Girls”) who have tried to keep him on the straight and narrow.
But, could there have been a broader message, considering that the incumbent Supervisor of Nunda Township Leda Bobera-Drain lost as well?
Is it simply “Out with the Old, In with the New?”
Was is reaction to nepotism, which was certainly as issue in Nunda Township?

And the incredible salaries set for next year’s Nunda officials?
Was it a reaction to the hiring of an unneeded and unauthorized Funk patronage worked costing about $93,000 per year in Algonquin Township?
Was it a negative vote on township government in general?
Only those who voted know.
