The Huntley Police Department received information of a suspicious incident at Huntley High School at approximately 7:48 this morning after weathered spent shell casings were turned into the School Resource Officer.
Out of an abundance of caution, the school was placed into Hold in Place and Teach while police investigated.
After a thorough investigation, the Huntley Police Department has determined there was no credible threat to student or staff safety.
The Hold in Place and Teach has been lifted and normal school operations have resumed.
Due to the age of the individuals involved, no further information can be released.
We appreciate everyone’s cooperation as we completed the investigation.
The security of our schools is a top priority and we thank you for trusting us to respond appropriately to keep them safe.
