EDEL CASTANEDA-CARRENO GUILTY OF PUBLIC INDECENCY

The McHenry County State’s Attorney Office announces that Edel Castaneda-Carreno, 23, of Woodstock, was convicted of public indecency on March 10, 2025, at the conclusion of a jury trial. 

On October 30, 2023, a woman was followed by Castaneda-Carreno while exercising at the Planet Fitness in Woodstock.

Castaneda-Carreno, whom the woman did not know, followed her to a spa area.

While looking at the woman, Castaneda-Carreno exposed himself.

McHenry County State’s Attorney, Randi Freese, commends the Woodstock Police Department for their swift and thorough investigation of this matter.

Castaneda-Carreno will be sentenced by the Honorable Judge Justin Hansen on April 3, 2025.

This case was successfully prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorneys Zachariah Sitkiewicz and Sawyer Schexnider of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office.
