From Wonder Lake resident Bob Anderson:
Open Letter, Representative Tom Weber, District 64:
Subject HB 2515, filed by Representative Joe Sosnowski and SB 2504, filed by Susy Glowiak-Hilton; two bills that will reduce the size and cost of Illinois’ nation leading units of local government.
The Illinois Comptroller count of Illinois’ units of local is 8,529, forty six states have less than 2,500 units, if Illinois were to eliminate 6,000 units it would still have more than these 46 states.
I write this letter because, as my state representative, you do not answer my calls, your office does not answer my calls or most of my emails.

However, your chief of staff, a former township supervisor, did reply to my last email asking for your support of HB 2515 and SB 2504.
The reply was that you do not support either of these bills. I sent a follow up email with a request from you of why; that email was not answered.
Governor Pritzker proposes to streamline government, cut red tape, and lower taxes.
Senator Glowaik- Hilton’s bill is a proposal to reduce or eliminate duplicative taxing bodies (township governments) increasing efficiencies of services and saving taxpayer money.
Representative Weber, you don’t want to talk about this!
Townships levy over $750 million in property taxes annually, a levy that most states do not have since they do not have township governments to fund as well as 17 of the state’s 102 counties.
When it comes to local government consolidation or elimination townships should be put on the chopping-block first. Townships, a Political-Tar-Pit, are well known for corruption, cronyism, nepotism, patronage, and most of all, waste.
Representative Weber, let’s talk.
