From the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District:

Fire Contained at Industrial Facility in Woodstock

On Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 7:40 p.m., the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District was dispatched to Vorteq Coil Finishers, located at 15920 Nelson Road in unincorporated Woodstock, for a reported fire inside the manufacturing plant.

The initial 911 call, placed by an employee inside the facility, reported that the plant was filling with smoke and visible fire was present.

Upon arrival, firefighters found no visible smoke or flames from the exterior of the large commercial structure.

Crews entered the building, which was filled with smoke, and worked quickly to locate the origin of the fire.

As conditions inside the plant indicated the possibility of fire extension into the roof, the response was upgraded to a working fire, prompting the dispatch of additional water tenders, fire suppression apparatus, personnel, and change-of-quarters companies.

Through an aggressive and coordinated interior operation, firefighters located and extinguished a fire in the ceiling area near an exhaust vent before it could spread further.

Once hazards were mitigated and conditions were confirmed safe, the remaining crews cleared the scene at 9:12 p.m.

All plant employees had evacuated prior to the fire department’s arrival, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District.
