From Woodstock author Richard Rostron:
Today is the 250th anniversary of the battle that started our war for independence – the battle from my novel, The Ghost of Lexington and Concord.

I was in 6th grade when our teacher led us down the hall to the junior high that was attached to our building. She took us to the library where the librarian gave us a presentation on the library, including something called ‘The Dewey Decimal System.’
Then she turned us loose to find a book for ourselves.
I went straight to the history stacks and the first book I took out was about the Battle of Lexington and Concord.
Though, with a BA in journalism and history, I have read and studied extensively about that battle and the American Revolution, I have returned to that story in earnest with the writing of my novel of historical fiction, “The Ghost of Lexington and Concord.”
I found the story of the Battle of Lexington and Concord fascinating then, with a disorganized mob of patriots stopping the Redcoats at the Old North Bridge by Concord and chasing them all the way back to Boston.
It is on the historic trail of that battle field that the main characters of my novel meet a ghost from that battle.
What transpires from there, as the three middle schoolers learn to work together and forget their animosities for each other, is an adventure where they try to survive while solving a 250-year-old mystery.
I so enjoyed writing this book that I’m confident you will enjoy reading it too, if you choose to do so.
