From the Co;roner:
McHenry County Coroner, Dr. Michael Rein, announced that his office was contacted on November 24, 2024 at around 11:00 pm by Woodstock Police Department to investigate the death of Gregory Rokus, age 53 of Woodstock.
Mr. Rokus was involved in a single vehicle accident around the intersection of E. Kimball Av. and Hibbard St. in Woodstock.
Mr. Rokus was pronounced deceased at the scene.
An autopsy was performed on November 26, 2024. Preliminary findings show blunt force trauma as the cause of death.
Toxicology is currently pending.
The Coroner’s Office is continuing to work collaboratively with Woodstock Police Department, Woodstock Fire and Rescue and MCAT (Major Crash Assistance Team).
