From the Coroner:
McHenry County Coroner, Dr. Michael Rein, announced that his office was contacted on October 20, 2024 at around 3pm to investigate the death of Jonathan Warner, age 33 of McHenry.
Mr. Warner was traveling southbound on a jet ski on the Fox River when he presumably struck one of the pillars at Burtons Bridge on Rt. 176.
Mr. Warner was pronounced deceased at the scene.
An autopsy was performed on October 22, 2024 and preliminary findings show blunt force injuries to the head as the cause of death.
Toxicology is currently pending. The Coroner’s Office is continuing to work collaboratively with McHenry County Conservation District Police, and Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
