One of the villains is the Dick Tracy cartoon strip created by Bull Valley’s Chester Gould was Pruneface.
He appeared in black and white Saturday:
Today’s Tribune cartoon reminded reprised the character in a costume party of the “Rogues Gallery:”
And that reminded me of how much McHenry County Supervisor of Assessments Stanley Cornue resembled Pruneface.
I wonder if Gould was angered by the size of his real estate bill on his Bull Valley home, blamed Cornue and created the character as revenge.
Cornue’s son Alan served as Mayor of Woodstock for two term.
