Patient Airlifted with Critical Chest Wound
On December 9, 2024, at 11:17 a.m., the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District responded to a 911 call reporting a man with unknown injuries at the Shell gas station at 110 N. Eastwood Drive in Woodstock.
Upon arrival, paramedics located the adult man outside the building and observed a serious chest laceration, reportedly caused by a knife.
Paramedics determined his condition to be critical and quickly requested a medical helicopter.
The patient was transported by ambulance to the helipad at Northwestern Medicine Woodstock Hospital and was subsequently airlifted by Mercyhealth REACT to Javon Bea Hospital—Riverside in Rockford for further treatment.
The Woodstock Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident. Any questions related to the investigation should be directed to them.
