Vehicle Strikes House in Marengo
On January 14, 2025, at 3:20 p.m., the Marengo Fire & Rescue Districts and Marengo Police Department were dispatched to the 900 block of Partridge Circle in Marengo following an Apple Crash Detection alert and reports of a vehicle that had struck a house.

Upon arrival, crews observed a single vehicle that had collided with the garage of a one-story duplex, causing moderate structural damage.
The house, which was under construction and unoccupied at the time, sustained damage primarily to the garage area.

Two female teenage occupants were out of the vehicle upon arrival.
One of the occupants reported a minor hand injury and was evaluated by paramedics on the scene.
Both individuals were released without requiring hospital transport.
The Marengo City Building Department was notified due to the structural damage to the property.

A brief statement from Marengo Police Sgt. Kjellgren: “The teenage driver was cited for the crash. This incident serves as an important reminder to slow down and practice safe driving, especially in residential areas where added caution is essential.”
Any additional questions regarding the circumstances of the crash, including speed, fault, or contributing factors, should be directed to the Marengo Police Department.
