Brush Fire on Cold Springs Road

On January 22, 2025, at 9:30 a.m., the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District responded to a reported brush fire in the 200 block of Cold Springs Road in Bull Valley.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a long, 2000+ foot driveway leading to the property, which posed initial challenges for access and water supply.

Once on scene, crews found a brush fire covering approximately 1-2 acres, spreading rapidly due to strong winds. 

Additional resources were requested from the Wonder Lake and McHenry Township Fire Protection Districts to assist with manpower and water supply.

Firefighters worked to quickly contain the fire, preventing any potential damage to structures on the property.

The fire was extinguished within 30 minutes. 

The Woodstock Fire/Rescue District thanks the responding agencies for their assistance in bringing the fire under control. No injuries were reported.
