Joe Walsh is the only person who has lived in McHenry County while serving as a Member of Congress.
During his two years, he very probably held more meetings with constituents than anyone else in history.
He was the one who called out President Barak Obama’s falsehood that shutting down the government would result in people not receiving their Social Security checks.
After he was reapportioned into a district with Randy Hultgren, Walsh ran in a less favorable district and lost to Tammy Duckworth. (He refused to follow my advice to label Duckworth an extremist on abortion for favoring allowing it until the day of birth.)
After losing, he because a WIND talk show host.
I remember his revealing that Trump had banned him from his Facebook page
Now he writes “The Social Contract” on substack.
Yesterday he wrote,

“I used to be a real asshole.
“As a Tea Party member of Congress, a nationally syndicated right-wing radio host, and one of the earliest supporters of Donald Trump, I was one of the guys many readers of this newsletter love to hate, and with good reason.”
