Doctor left surgical sponge inside patient following surgery at McHenry Hospital: Lawsuit

A surgeon performing a second procedure found and removed a surgical sponge from the initial surgery, according to the court complaint.

The Chicago law firm said the surgeon, Dr. Aqeel Sandhu, during a left neck exploration, excision of a cervical mass and lymph node dissection, but left a sponge inside Frank Kryzak.
