I was frustrated last night when the percentage of precincts reporting figure topped out at 73.4%.

It’s the morning after and the vote totals have not changed, but the the percentage of precincts counted now reads “100%.”

The interesting thing is that only one vote separates one of the candidates endorsed by the Township Republican Party and one who was not.

From my study of ballot position, I find it interesting the two candidates have the best and second best spots.

First place with a lot of candidates is worth an extra 10% or so and last place and second place an extra 5%.

Sean Catty, he endorsed candidate, is on the top of the ballot, while the most successful of the two candidates not endorsed–Michael Danielson–is at the bottom.

The other endorsed candidates ran 48 to 14 voted ahead of Catty.

It is no surprise that a woman, Tamara Lueth, ran first.

Watching how women do when pitted against me since 1966, I have found that being a woman gets one a bonus of about five percentage points.

In this election, it ended up at 3.76 percentage points.

Why does a woman have an advantage?

I think it is because most political crooks have been men.

So, other things being equal, a women is more likely to be honest than a man.

Not to imply that any of the men running for Grafton Township Trustee are likely to be dishonest.

So, with a one vote lead, any ballots mailed late in the game could decide whether Danielson or Cratty win the fourth seat.
