From John Lopez:

Here are the candidate filings for the Republican nominations for the following Dundee Township offices (given over 28% of the village of Algonquin population is in Dundee Township, this should be relevant for blog readers):

Supervisor:

  • Arin Thrower, 49, East Dundee

Clerk:

  • Deborah Brennan, 61, Carpentersville

Highway Commissioner:

Assessor:

  • Michael Bielak, 66, Algonquin

Trustees (vote for 4):

  • Richard Ahrens, 85, unincorporated Dundee Township
  • Susan Romano, 56, West Dundee
  •  Ken Schaffer, 67, unincorporated Dundee Township
  •  Autumn Sheppard, 43, unincorporated Dundee Township

Because the Dundee Township Democrats did not file paperwork to hold a primary election and with no contested Republican primaries for Dundee Township offices, there will be no Consolidated Primary Election in Dundee Township on February 25, 2025.

All of the Republicans will be placed on the April 1, 2025, Consolidated Election ballot.

Incumbent Dundee Township Highway Commissioner David Schulz will file for reelection as an independent candidate during the November 12-18 filing period.

Both political parties can slate candidates for the April 1 ballot as late as January 22, 2025.
