A second meeting was called because Darby Hills did not a public record of being a Republican.

State law required the replacement be a Republican.

From one who was on the Zoom call for the do-over meeting to select Dan McConchie’s replacement in the State Senate comes this report:

The meeting was called to order at 1 PM.

Vulgar language and pornography were posted to the legislative committee’s Zoom meeting. It was suggested there be more vetting of Zoom participants in the future.

(I have the screenshot and will send it to you if you WANT, but it has naked men and the N-word in chat.)

Quorum: All members were present.

The vote:

  • Keith Brin voted for Darby Hills and his vote is all that matters because of the weighted vote mechanism.
  • Andro Lerario went on a rant about why he’s voting for Darby Hills. He was mad that people doubted his decision.
  • Jeff Thorsen voted for Marty McLaughlin.
  • Peter Kopsaftis voted for Marty McLaughlin.
  • Aaron Del Mar voted for Darby Hills.

Darby Hills was selected to replace Dan McConchie.

The meeting adjourned at 1:17 PM.
