From a Friend of McHenry County Blog:

McHenry County GOPAC’s first quarter numbers are in and they are astounding.

Funds balance of McHenry County GOPAC; it started the quarter with 36,000, ended with 215,000.

You can imagine my annoyance then when State Senator Andrew Chesney went on Tom DeVore’s Facebook livestream and said McHenry County Republicans are bad at raising money. He makes the claim between 10:45 and 11 minutes into the video.

The Senator obviously does not understand that McHenry County GOPAC has for years been more significant to McHenry County Republican politics than the official party committee.

It does not mean Republicans are bad at raising money per se. It just means Karen Tirio’s GOPAC has been doing the heavier lifting.

Imagine having two jobs and a person believed your income was that of your lower paying job.

They would not be seeing the whole picture because they completely ignored the other job — the one that paid more.

Chesney has erred in his assessment.

It was likely a mistake resulting from ignorance since his district does not include McHenry County and therefore, he does not understand the inside baseball.

But perhaps Chesney should not criticize people when he does not understand their situation.

And as Chesney bashed McHenry County Republicans on DeVore’s livestream for being bad at raising money, DeVore’s own PAC titled “Tom DeVore’s RINO Removal” raised just 100 dollars in the first quarter.
