I mentioned the signing of Marengo State Rep. Jack Franks high school athlete performance enhancing drug testing bill Thursday in my Friday article
In a nut shell, here’s what it does:
House Bill 272, signed and effective today, requires random “performance-enhancing substance” drug testing of at least 1,000 high school athletes in 25% of the state’s high schools. It also requires some education for coaches about preventing such drug abuse.
Interestingly, the Murphysboro Republican ran an article about the bill signing, but I see nothing in any local daily newspaper.
