Protecting Oaks in Lakewood

Today the annual gypsy moth spraying took place in Lakewood.

A helicopter flew over Country Club Additions subdivision spraying an application of Bacillus thuringiensis kurstaki (B.t.k.), a naturally occurring bacteria used by gardeners as an environmentally friendly alternative to chemical pesticides.

So far, there only two infestations that have been identified.
