I thought a front page article about the sham GOP Primary Election candidate running against Steve Reick would have been perfect for the first week the Northwest Herald went tabloid.

Since no photo of plant Jeffrey Lichte exists on the internet, the NWH could have run a photo of Reick with the image you see here.

Certainly better than a front page article about the boring subject of voter turnout.

In case you don’t remember, the voter turnout last spring for the local elections where people who impose probably over 80% of the property tax burden was 11%. (17% in the 2014 primary election.)

If so little interest in voting, wouldn’t the interest in voter turnout be even less?

But a couple of weeks into its tabloid era, the NWH finally ran an article on this scam.

The headline in Friday’s Northwest Herald reads:

Lichte:  Candidacy for House is legit

Yeah.  Sure.

The candidate has submitted answers to questionnaires that someone has written, but refused to show up at the McHenry County League of Women Voters Forum for legislative candidates and skipped the NWH interview session.

You know my theory.

It’s an attempt by Democrat Jack Franks to do the same thing his leader Mike Madigan has done for decades:

Put a fake Republican candidate on the ballot so Madigan is free to do anything he wants in the fall.

But, Franks dismisses that analysis of why the man who

Jack Franks

Jack Franks

Here’s Franks’ denial from last Friday’s article by Keven Craver:

“Franks dismissed any idea that he was behind Lichte’s decision to run–he said he had no reason to want to do so–and accused of Reick and others [why isn’t my name mentioned?] of having overactive imaginations.

“He said that allegiances change, and pointed out some of the people who are now backing [Steve] Reick had supported his past campaigns.”

Perhaps the Tooth Fairy induced Lichte to find Cook and DeKalb County petition passers.

Surely it wasn’t anyone connected in any way whatsoever with Jack Franks.

  1. Here’s the aforementioned article.

    Northwest Herald
63rd House District candidate maintains he’s a legit Republican
    February 26, 2016
    by Kevin Craver

“Lichte insists he is a legitimate candidate, albeit one with no money – he would not say how much he does have – and no campaign committee registered with the Illinois State Board of Elections.”

    That’s pretty funny.

Mr. Lichte insists to the Northwest Herald he is a legitimate candidate.

    That’s technically correct.

He’s followed Illinois State Board of Elections rules to file as a Republican candidate.

However, Mr. Lichte offers no evidence as to what Republican values he supports, and has no platform.

So in the practical sense, has Mr. Lichte made an about face, jumped over the fence, and is now a Republican?

All evidence points that Mr. Lichte is not a legitimate conservative Republican, rather, he’s a Democrat who filed to run as a Republican, hoping to win the Republican Primary, so he could then face the candidate he has supported in the past, Democrat Jack Franks, in the fall general election, assuring Jack Franks of a victory.

    Yet another recap.

    Mr. Lichte has:

    – No campaign website.

    – No campaign literature.

    – No campaign phone number.

    – No campaign email.

    – No campaign social media.

    – All references to Mr. Lichte point to the OPPOSITE political party.

    – Google Maps contains a JACK FRANKS campaign sign in Mr. Lichte’s lawn.

    – Did not show up at the League of Women’s Voter forum debate.

    – Does not have a single Republican supporter anyone knows about.

    – No one in the Republican Party seems to know Mr. Lichte.

  2. Northwest who?

That stinking fishwrap’s relevance fades into utter nothingness.

Every day its readership slightly falls …

I suppose that’s why they place the obits so prominently.

Go get your free paper from Centegra or the public libraries.

My dentist refused a free copy in his office!

(Apparently they keep subscription readership at higher levels by counting in the stacks of freebie papers they give away at the hospital and libraries …. they figured out nobody was buying the pathetic rag from coin machines …. so they were finally removed from everywhere (train sta., IHOPs, etc.)

Remember if the Herald got it right …. it was only by accident!

The ‘mental health advocate’ Peterson … axed by the paper years ago resurfaces every now and then …. each pseudo-op ed piece is crazier than the last!

Yeah, I do read it once a month at the library

  3. Cal, why dont you send this into Chuck Goudy at ABC 7 news.

Or better yet, why not go knock on his door already?
