Tax Accountability Endorses James Marter for Congress, IL 14th District

Marter Achieves Perfect Score from Taxpayers United of America

Oswego, IL (March 4, 2020) –

The political action arm of Taxpayers United of America, announced Tuesday, March 4th, their endorsement of James Marter for Congress, in Illinois’ 14th District.

“Mr. Marter received a perfect score on our Tax Accountability Candidate Questionnaire,” said Jim Tobin, the group’s Chairman. “Mr. Marter also signed our Taxpayer Protection Pledge. The Pledge is a promise to taxpayers of the U.S. that the signee will support economic freedom by working to decrease the overall tax burden on taxpayers.”

Marter has promised on the campaign trail to “be relentless in the pursuit of cutting the size and scope of the Federal Government.” A goal Tax Accountability said was “outstanding.”

Mr. Tobin added, “I strongly recommend a vote for James T. Marter on Tuesday, March 17th, as United States Representative. I know that he will work hard and fight on behalf of taxpayers.”

The campaign points out that opponents in the 14th District have not aggressively opposed tax increases, such as voting to double Illinois’ gas tax. Marter cautions against sending that mentality to Washington D.C. and promises to be an alternative, that works on reducing the debt, rather than the tax and spend policies that hinder economic growth.
