Votes by Precinct for GOP President, Congress & County Offices

in years past, the local newspaper would print precinct by precinct election results.

No more, but here the first of two posts, this one showing what the winners for President Trump, countywide office and Congress received in each precinct, which are listed in numeric order with their townships, which are listed in alphabetic order.

Results for countywide candidates

  • McHenry County Board Chairman Mimke Buehler
  • McHenry County Auditor Shannon Teresi
  • McHenry County Coroner Mike Rein
  • McHenry County Circuit Clerk Kathy Keefe

Thanks to a Friend of McHenry County Blog for compiling the data base

(Precincts in blue are those which are split between two State Representative districts.)

Starting comparing Donald Trump’s votes with those of McHenry County Board Chairman-Elect Mike Buehler’s.

First take a look at the maps which show who won in the Presidential and County Board Chairman races.

Trump won McHenry County 49.98% to Biden’s 47.49%, a margin of 4,103 votes.

Votes by Precinct for GOP President, Congress & County Offices — 11 Comments

  1. Franks’ sign at his Rte 47 office now says “Thanks for the Opportunity to Serve”!

  2. How about just showing votes by precinct for Trump vs Biden?

Which precincts have large amounts and DUMB Biden voters?

  3. I don’t understand the point of sharing the vote totals for one candidate in a race but not the others.

One candidate’s raw vote totals are completely meaningless without the rest of the data.

  4. I think the most interesting thing of note in these numbers is that Trump received less votes than any of the other Republican candidates.

For example Buehler outperformed Trump by about 2300 votes suggesting he picked up more independents or democrats than trump did.

  5. Go to the county clerk’s website.

    Look at election results.

There are no surprises and it’s all pretty boring stuff. Democrats won where Democrats typically win, Republicans won where Republicans typically win.

The only things that surprised me locally were Reick and Buehler easily defeating Sager and Franks, but I’m not complaining.

Oh, and I guess I expected more Democrats to vote for the local Libertarian candidates just by virtue of them not being Republicans, but that did not happen to the extent that I expected it to.

  6. Thank you for putting this out. Newspapers (when they were real) used to put these totals out.

The most interesting item is that Ives and Oberweis underperformed the rest of the Republican ticket by a lot.

Imagine if the we had two center-right non-extremist non-wackjob candidates!!!

The Republicans would have had 215 seats in the US House which would be just two shy of the majority.

Thank you Jeanne Ives for allowing Sean Casten to continue to serve.

Interestingly, Ives got clobbered in her home township in DuPage (Milton), and even lost her own precinct by a wide margin.

While other Republican candidates generally carried the area by approx at 60-40/ 55-45 margin.

Let’s stop nominating extremist and goofy candidates.

  7. Yes Neal at 3:12 PM. Amount of votes for Trump? The mostly left wing media (70, 80, 90, 99 percent of total media?) have been on a rant since 2016 trashing Trump every day, every hour of each day with BS from Democrat operatives. Started with the fake Russia Collusion engineered by the thug Hillary Rodman Clinton and executed by Obama people and deep state persons in government departments.

Is it any wonder that low information and stupid people who watch, listen, read stuff from the mostly left wing media were influenced to vote against Trump and for the doofus/moron Biden?
