COVID bill illuminates The Swamp and suggests knocking down Kennedy Center
Congress just tried to push through another COVID relief bill.
It failed because President Donald Trump said, “NO!”
He argued that it included crumbs for American citizens while filled with Leftist pork that gave $billions to foreign nations, as well as to illegal aliens through the children they managed to give birth to on U.S. soil.
It also included $40 million for the Kennedy Center, never mind that, with COVID, the Center is closed.
If the Center is closed, why does it need $40 million?
Are the electric bills that high?
If so, turn off the lights.
Turn down the thermostat.
Shut the water off and drain the pipes so they won’t burst and you can turn the heat all the way down.
With $40 million, the Kennedy Center can hire 40 maintenance workers, at $1-million each, to maintain the building.
Or they could hire 400 workers and pay them $100,000 a year (wait – what about the millions in the other COVID relief bill earlier this year that was given to the Kennedy Center?).
That’s a lot of money for a maintenance worker.
Even in D.C., $50,000 a year is probably a reasonable salary for a maintenance worker.
At that rate, they can hire an army of 800 workers. Of course, the Kennedy Center is a large building – 1.5-million-square feet.
Yet, 400 workers would only have to take care of 3,750-square-feet each (1,875 square feet if you hire the army of 800).
But if the building is closed, what are all these maintenance workers doing?
In the meantime, they voted to give Americans $600 to compensate for virtually shutting down the economy.
President Trump realizes that’s a slight insult to the American people, not that we shouldn’t be used to it by now.
They also voted to give $millions and $millions to foreign countries.
What does that have to do with COVID?
Hard to understand?
Can you say “foreign lobbyist”?
Those lobbyists must really have convincing arguments.
That, or maybe they have some other way of ‘persuading’ members of Congress to ‘vote their way.’
That’s the silly conspiracy theorist in me showing.
Congress wouldn’t do that and, as Sleepy Joe explained, Hunter did nothing wrong taking $millions from China, Ukraine, Russia and other countries.
Are you still wondering how so many members of Congress become incredibly wealthy while receiving reasonably modest salaries for their Congressional positions?
As for the Kennedy Center, I’d rather spend just enough money for wrecking crews to knock the building down if Congress can’t stop using it to bilk the American taxpayer.
Pork, pork and more pork. Just disgusting.
The swamp just continues to grow.
Burn the kennedy center to the ground with every democrat in congress in it.
Kickbacks – it cost money to buy votes (unions, lucrative government contracts, etc.)
just ask any Illinois DEMOCRAT, got to keep the hustle financed to keep it going.
Always follow the money and you will eventually arrive at the truth.
The same argument can be said for all the libraries in every city of the U.S.A.

It’s good to see that Rostron doesn’t at all understand what the bill was/is.
It’s also cute that Rostron claims that it failed, even though it passed both chambers and was signed by Trump last night.
This was written last last week.
Sure.
But he was wrong then and is wrong now.
He doesn’t understand that it wasn’t just a COVID bill.
And he claimed it failed, when that was not true last week and isn’t true today.

Randomly looking at some pages of the 5593 page Bill. On page 1457, found the following:
“8 (g) MALAWI.—Of the funds appropriated by this Act
9 under the heading ‘‘Development Assistance’’, not less
10 than $60,000,000 shall be made available for assistance
11 for Malawi, of which up to $10,000,000 shall be made
12 available for higher education programs.”
Per WIKI:

How many Americans ever heard of a country named Malawi? How many Americans know that its capital is Lilongwe? Or that Chewa people inhabit the area?
THEE Bill allocates $60,000,000 to Malawi.
Look through some of the 5593 page bill to find more and numerous examples of bs and wasteful spending of federal taxes paid by ordinary hard working Americans.
This 5593 page BILL is some piece of work. We citizens should wonder how many hundreds, if not thousands, of government employees put this thing together. We citizens need a federal law that REQUIRES the name and title of every single person and their email address who contributed anything, even one sentence, to every Bill introduced in the House and Senate. Persons involved shall be listed as to what lines on what pages they wrote.
