IL-06/IL-14/IL-16/U.S. Senate: Joe Biden’s American Jobs Plan Unveiled/Unleashed

From Introduction of White House Fact Sheet on American Jobs Plan:

FACT SHEET: The American Jobs Plan

MARCH 31, 2021 • STATEMENTS AND RELEASES

While the American Rescue Plan is changing the course of the pandemic and delivering relief for working families, this is no time to build back to the way things were. This is the moment to reimagine and rebuild a new economy. The American Jobs Plan is an investment in America that will create millions of good jobs, rebuild our country’s infrastructure, and position the United States to out-compete China. Public domestic investment as a share of the economy has fallen by more than 40 percent since the 1960s. The American Jobs Plan will invest in America in a way we have not invested since we built the interstate highways and won the Space Race.

The United States of America is the wealthiest country in the world, yet we rank 13th when it comes to the overall quality of our infrastructure. After decades of disinvestment, our roads, bridges, and water systems are crumbling. Our electric grid is vulnerable to catastrophic outages. Too many lack access to affordable, high-speed Internet and to quality housing. The past year has led to job losses and threatened economic security, eroding more than 30 years of progress in women’s labor force participation. It has unmasked the fragility of our caregiving infrastructure. And, our nation is falling behind its biggest competitors on research and development (R&D), manufacturing, and training. It has never been more important for us to invest in strengthening our infrastructure and competitiveness, and in creating the good-paying, union jobs of the future.

Like great projects of the past, the President’s plan will unify and mobilize the country to meet the great challenges of our time: the climate crisis and the ambitions of an autocratic China. It will invest in Americans and deliver the jobs and opportunities they deserve. But unlike past major investments, the plan prioritizes addressing long-standing and persistent racial injustice. The plan targets 40 percent of the benefits of climate and clean infrastructure investments to disadvantaged communities. And, the plan invests in rural communities and communities impacted by the market-based transition to clean energy. Specifically, President Biden’s plan will:…

From the desk of John Lopez: The “rich” and 1099 workers and states rights targeted by Biden plan

The Biden American Jobs Plan promises that only corporations and people making at least $400K/year will be impacted with higher taxes to pay for this Federal government spending spree euphemistically called “investments”.

Biden also wants any/all jobs to be created to be union jobs, which means he still at war with 1099 workers accusing them of being misclassified and renewed his call for Congress to pass the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act that passed the House on largely partisan vote last month, and is still in the Senate, where Majority Leader Chuck Schumer wants 50 Senate cosponsors before bringing the PRO Act to the floor.

But the PRO Act inclusion as part of the American Jobs Plan did not go unnoticed, since the PRO Act would eliminate 27 states (plus Guam) right-to-work laws:

But the more sinister of the threats to 1099 workers is this portion of the American Jobs Plan about 3/4 of the way down:

“…to provide the federal government with the tools it needs to ensure employers are providing workers with good jobs – including jobs with fair and equal pay,…”

.

That reads like an invitation to rewrite the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), which is the complete implementation of the California Assembly Bill 5 law that wreaked havoc in California last year and still does so today.

McHenry County Blog wrote about it here, with the press release the Democrats issued just over 6 months ago.

It’s unknown what kind of legerdemain the Democrats are going to pull to pass this massive plan, possibly like the appropriations bills at the end of 2020 were passed as part of COVID relief in a 5,000+ page package to get around Senate filibuster rules.

The taxes and spending, especially tied to the fiscal year 2022 budget/appropriations beginning October 1, could be a vehicle.

The Democrats will need it, given the Senate 50-50+1 majority.

  1. Joe “Stumbles” Biden couldn’t tell the truth because he can’t comprehend what truth is,
it’s all just a dementia delusion to him.

His dogs craping all over the Whitehouse and biting people at will are much like
    the feckless Stumblebum himself.

What those poor SS people have to put up with, many stories to be told down the road.

  2. Do not trust ever, never anything from the Democrat Party operatives including their top people Biden, Pelosi and Schumer. Their Covid relief act was a gigantic SCAM in MISNAMING the Bill. It said COVID but ONLY 10 percent of the $1.9 Trillion in it was for COVID relief for Americans. The rest was a gigantic scam.

Only the poorly informed, the brainwashed, the useful idiots vote for Democrats including the idiot and senile Joseph Robinette Biden who is doing his evil best to destroy the US with his reckless directives on migrants and illegal aliens. Of course many other reckless actions by this dope including on the Keystone pipeline and stopping the building of the southern wall to stop illegal aliens that Trump had authorized.

  3. Nothing but a gift to prevailing wage unions.

They (liberal Democrats) are solidifying their base.

  4. Does anyone not realize that Biden stands out as one of the most corrupt creatures in a Swamp full of corruption?

What restraint should we expect from someone this dirty?
