The Algonquin Police Department announces St. Patrick’s Day
‘Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over’ enforcement results
(Algonquin, IL) – The Algonquin Police Department announced it issued one seat belt citation during the St. Patrick’s Day enforcement period.
- 21 speeding citations
- one distracted driving citation and
- one other violation
was issued during this campaign.
“By keeping impaired drivers off the roads and ensuring that motorists and passengers are buckled up, we’re able to help make the roads a safer place for everyone,” said Sergeant Robert Salazar.
The Algonquin Police Department joined forces with highway safety partners and both state and local law enforcement in the St. Patrick’s Day enforcement campaign.
The traffic safety effort was funded by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns.
The ‘other’ violation was a compact car with 11 teenagers crammed in.
