Over $1.5 Million in Assets State’s Attorney Is Seeking from the Matthew Lilla Drug Operation

Sunday McHenry County Blog reproduced one of the fifteen drug asset forfeiture cases filed by the State’s Attorney Patrick Kenneally’s Office.

I found it a fascinating summary of the investigation of a man who bought a home with easy access to Route 47 north of Huntley.

First Assistant State’s Attorney Randi Freese was kind enough to provide the fifteen case citations showing the source and type of assets being sought, which appear below:

Zillow estimates the real estate values as follows:

  • 11,617 Hawthorne Way, Huntley $414.000 with net proceeds of $61,035
  • 9,880 Ivanhoe Avenue, Schiller Park $412,900 with net proceeds of $54,314

I add up $1,297,024 listed above.

In addition, there are the following vehicles:

  • Black 2018 Mercedes Benz AMG GLE63
  • 2009 Dodge pickup truck
  • 2018 White Jeep Black Hawk
  • Gray Ford Transit Van
  • 2018 White Ford Transit Van
  • 2018 Bobcat S650
  • 2018 White Ford Transit Van

Plus

  • 3 gold necklaces
  • 2 diamond and gold rings
  • 2 Rolex watches
  • a skid steer
  • various hand and power tools

Where will any seized assets go?

  1. 65% to the police department that conducted the investigation for the enforcement of laws.
  2. 12.5% to the State’s Attorney’s Office that prosecuted the forfeiture to be placed in a fund that is appropriated to the State’s Attorney for use in the enforcement of laws.
  3. 12.5% to the Office of the Appellate Prosecutor to be deposited in the Narcotics Profit Forfeiture Fund to be used for additional expenses incurred in the investigation, prosecution and appeal of cases arising under the laws.
  4. 10% to Illinois State Police for expenses related to the administration and sale of seized and forfeited property.

  1. If anyone can screw this up it will be Kenneally. Lilla’s fortunate that this is happening in his jurisdiction.

  2. I have questions about why Cal puts commas in home address numbers.

  3. mellow monk, it is not correct never use comas in address…..WTFU….comas are used with numbers for amounts only
when he uses comas in addresses its called a mistake…

  4. Matthew Lilla is probably guilty as sin, but he hasn’t been convicted yet.

Civil asset forfeiture laws need to be changed so that no one loses their assets unless and until they are convicted of a crime.

The current system is an abomination that all too frequently results in innocent people losing their property because they can’t afford the costs of fighting the case.

  5. @Correcting,

It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if Biden appointed Crimesha Foxx to the federal bench.

  6. I Love It.

Dave Lowitzki Consulting is concerned about punctuation. Hey Shake don’t you have bigger concerns like supporting pedophilia, increasing taxes on IL residents and murdering the life of unborn children?

    How’s Mrs. Ed?

  7. Kenneally is a loser.

He’s also a libtard and lefty.

He’s a cuckservative to the max.

Ask him about how his dandy pal, Bob Miller, got away with 25 yrs of graft, corruption, patronage, influence peddling, free family vacations to Disneyland, very high end purses from Amazon, Caribbean cruises, and thousand of $100 gift cards distributed to kin and cronies!

Miller’s daughter an son in law ought to be jailed. What about the slimy Judge Chmiel, Miller’s stooge?: https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/ct-bn-xpm-2010-11-19-28519798-story.html
