State Rep. Jack Franks’ high school athlete drug testing bill got front page coverage in the Elgin Courier-News yesterday.

That should be good news for Franks, but it isn’t.

You see, the reporter didn’t mention Franks’ name.

Not good for someone wanting to run for statewide office.

R.J. Gerber said Governor Pat Quinn had signed House Bill 272, but didn’t mention the guy who did the heavy lifting on the legislation.
