The driver of a pickup truck apparently escaped serious injury when he and a train collided in Fox River Grove.
The pickup truck was loaded onto another truck for removal after the train crash.
It was not the same intersection at which the school bus and train crashed in 1995.
The damage caused by the collusion with the Metra train to side of the pickup truck can be seenhere.
The driver obviously missed all of that. The arm bar assembly of the crossing gate was demolished.
A small plow or what I think used to be called a “cow catcher “is on the end of the train. Look closely and you can see the damage to the eastbound train. A bag covers the damaged connector.
After the vehicle was removed the door remained.
A wide view of the Fox River Grove pickup train crash.
The eastbound train was delayed fifty minutes. A westbound train got held up twenty minutes.
