April 6, 2014 – North Barrington, IL –  The Cuba Township Republicans unanimously elected Lake County Board Member and Republican Precinct Committeeman Nick Sauer their chairman at the organization’s Saturday, April 5th election meeting.

The local Republican committee, made up of elected precinct committeemen from each of the 14 precincts in Cuba Township, also chose

  • Mike Danforth as vice-chairman and
  • Cara Kretz as secretary/treasurer.

Included in the meeting were newly elected precinct committeemen

  • Richard Cape
  • Rick Doering
  • Keith Hanso
  • Mark Osterhues and
  • Jim Tomazsek

who won their precinct races in the March 18 General Primary.

Nick Sauer currently serves on the Lake County Board and Forest Preserve Commission representing District 17 which encompasses most of the Barrington area as well as Island Lake and Wauconda.

Nick is a member of several local community groups including the Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce and Citizens for Conservation. Before being elected to the Lake County Board, Nick served as a School Board Member in Barrington Unit District 220.

Cuba Township is located in southwest Lake County, Illinois and covers an area of 24 square miles and population of approximately 16,000 people. Cuba Township encompasses all or portions of Barrington, Barrington Hills, Deer Park, Fox River Grove, Lake Barrington, North Barrington, Port Barrington, Tower Lakes, and unincorporated Lake County. In the 2012 General Election election, 78% of Cuba Township registered voters turned out to vote.

    It was great seeing you out working the polls on Election Day when I stopped in to do a surprise security assessment on provisional voting.

    It is so important to have someone who is boots on the ground leading the Party. It is great to see you in a leadership role.

    Let’s talk about election security in the not too distant future.
