Manzullo Announces Federal Grant for Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department

[ROCKFORD] Congressman Don Manzullo (R-Egan) today announced the Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department has received a $24,000 federal grant for fire operations and firefighter training.

The grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security helps local fire departments, rescue squads and ambulance services with the purchase of firefighting equipment, funds firefighter health and safety programs, enhances emergency medical services programs, and funds fire prevention and safety programs.

Crystal Lake Fire/Rescue officials plan to use the funds to purchase three handheld thermal imaging cameras.

“I want to congratulate Chief James Moore and his employees for their efforts to win this extremely competitive grant,” Manzullo said. “These funds will go a long way to help the brave fire and rescue workers in Crystal Lake better protect the residents of the community.”
