24-Year Old Man Dies in Harvard Vehicle Crash on Stateline Road

Harvard Single Vehicle Fatal Crash

A 24 year-old Harvard man was reported deceased on scene after a single vehicle traffic crash that occurred in unincorporated Harvard.

At 6:32 a.m., on February 23, 2020, McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Deputies, Walworth County Sheriff’s Deputies, and Harvard Fire Protection District Personnel responded to the scene of a single vehicle traffic crash in the 19900 block of State Line Road in unincorporated Harvard.

Preliminary investigation indicated that the 2001 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was traveling westbound on State Line Road and left the south side of the roadway, struck a ditch, and then struck a utility pole resulting a power outage for the area.

The driver of the Silverado was entrapped in the vehicle and pronounced deceased on the scene.

The roadway was closed to traffic for five hours.

The McHenry County Coroner’s Office has identified the driver as Javier Ocampo-Nova.

Javier was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the traffic crash.

The traffic crash investigation is ongoing by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Investigation Unit and the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.
