Featuring heavy dose of CGI, this video is TV-ready for broadcast as an introductory ad

Ted Gradel, 14th congressional district Republican candidate, released his first, TV-ready commercial.

He’s keeping with his football kicking theme, but at an outdoor setting, and a heavy dose of CGI reminiscent of the Michael Jordan/Larry Bird “Nothing but Net” commercials for McDonald’s from the 1990s.

Please rate the new commercial in the comments, and come from the perspective of someone who did not see all of those indoor football kicking videos from earlier this year.

  1. Pretty funny and clever ad.

A lot better than his previous ones.

I still hate the kicking football thing like who the hell cares, honestly.

I know it’s just something they do so people remember him “oh that’s the guy who kicked footballs.”

Also that madigan/pritzker stuff is a good way to get Rs on his side but it won’t hold up in the General, same with the gas tax.

Im sure he will pivot if he wins but just saying.

  2. Better than his other ads.

I’m kind of surprised he’s not emphasizing his education at a private Catholic college.

Yes, it’s cool that he kicked footballs for the Fighting Irish, but what about the institution itself and its values?

Isn’t that something that would be a plus for him?

Jerry Evans sounded good when he talked about Wheaton College and its founder.

Gradel’s school is more well known and he has more campaign money to talk about it.

Oberweis is a businessman, and so is Marter who is also an outsider.

    Marter’s a Trump supporter too.

Evans is an outsider, a businessman, and says he is a Trump supporter.

    What is unique about Gradel?

What sets him apart in a 7-way race?

Is it just, “I kicked footballs in college”?

Gradel should have answered that question a long time ago.

  3. Great ad that stands out from the other vanilla ads.

    Clear and concise message.

    Milk boy might go 0-7!

  4. Pretty good ads in my book.

But the Stem Cell controversey will ruin his chances if he gets the nomination.

There’ll be 8 Underwood mailings just about that alone!

    I support MARTER.

He’s no traitor like Oberwei, RINO like Rezin, or Lazybones-idiot like Hultgren.

  5. Very disappointing to hear the use of profanity in yet another Republican candidate commercial.

It didn’t work so well for Rauner.

It’s sad that we have to switch channels to protect our young children.
