Buried in Tuesday’s Lakewood Village Board meeting packet is this terrifying, then heartwarming letter about appreciation of Lakewood Police Officer Sean McGrath:

Interim Police Chief Lou Rossi entered a Letter of Appreciation for his Exception Service into Sean McGrath’s service file.

The man’s bail was increased to $150,000.  His initial bail, which he posted in 2020 was $80,000, he currently has $8,000 posted from 2020.

  1. Great job Sean, now please retire from that worthless PD and enjoy your pension from CL.

    They don’t appreciate police much any more, not even management.

  2. That’s because the CLPD has been a disgrace.

    Few good ones are left.

    Some of the Chiefs and deputies have be absolutely abhorrent individuals, IMO.

    Books and movies document the horrible behavior of some.

  3. I have heard tales about fixing traffic tickets in exchange for a bribe.

  4. I think the run of the mill police are good people.

    The leadership has been horrible to the citizenry of Crystal Lake.
