From the McHenry Township Fire Protection District:

The McHenry Township Fire Protection District (MTFPD) was dispatched on 6/2/2022 at 08:46 PM to the 1900 block of Orleans Street in McHenry IL for a structure fire.

Emergency response units arrived on the scene within 3 minutes and found a multi-family two–story apartment building with light smoke showing.

Crews investigated and found a small fire in a 2nd floor apartment kitchen.

The fire was quickly extinguished by fire personnel.

Four pieces of MTFPD apparatus responded to the scene consisting of 15 firefighters.

In addition, Crystal Lake and Nunda Fire Departments also responded but were returned.

McHenry Police department also responded to the scene.

There were no firefighter or civilian injuries.

The apartment sustained minor fire, smoke, and water damage.

A damage estimate is not available at this time.

The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
