AM 560 Flash Straw Poll Shows GOP Gubernatorial Race in a Three-Way Tie

GLEN ELLYN — After a spirited and sometimes contentious debate between four of the candidates for Illinois governor on Thursday night at the College of DuPage, AM 560 The Answer conducted a flash straw poll of listeners. The results of that poll show that the race for governor has tightened immensely, heading into the final days before the primary election.

The poll, conducted on-line for one hour immediately following the debate, shows a virtual three-way tie among the field of candidates. Darren Bailey leads the field with 32.2% support, followed by Gary Rabine with 31.2%, and Jesse Sullivan at 30.7%. Rounding out the field are Paul Schimpf with 2.7%, Richard Irvin with 1.3%, and Max Solomon with 0.6%. Just 1.2% of respondents said they remain undecided ahead of Tuesday’s primary election.

  • Darren Bailey 32.2%
  • Gary Rabine 31.2%
  • Jesse Sullivan 30.7%
  • Paul Schimpf 2.7%
  • Richard Irvin 1.3%
  • Max Solomon 0.6%
  • Undecided 1.2%

Results reflect the opinion of 1,815 likely voters participating in AM 560’s on-line straw poll, between 8:30 and 9:30pm on Thursday, June 23, 2022.

Not that this is a scientific poll, but Griffin’s man Irvin is tanking among WIND listeners.

Here is a poll by Fabrizio Lee with a margin of error of 4.4% plus or minus:

It appears Griffin at $25.2 billion (Forbes) will become the richest man in Florida.

Monyey Magazine says Thomas Peterffy’s net worth is $25 billion. (Forbes says, $19.2 billion.)

  1. Glad “ignorant bumpkin” Bailey did that well with the WIND audience.

I would love to see Irvin finish 3rd.

Heck, 4th behind Rabine would be even better.

Unfortunately, too many votes already cast for that to happen.

Hopefully Griffin will follow DeSantis’ lead in Florida after being ripped off by the evil and greedy Republican Establishment.

Unfortunately, too many “conservatives” in this state still haven’t figured out the Illinois Republican Establishment never puts up a good candidate.

If they got Griffin’s money thanks to the Illinois Establishment, you know what to do when you get in the voting booth.

  2. Grant, Bailey did not win that debate on WIND last night and neither did Irvin. Rabine is a good IL candidate. Unfortunately, we have corruption in our elections which many on this board fail to acknowledge. Oh well. I’ll cast my vote on Tuesday and vote Rabine, Shestokas and Piton. Sorry Tirio, your vote will be left blank. 3 of the 4 will fight to clean up IL elections. Bailey, DeVore and Salvi can’t even acknowledge it. It will be fun to watch the hayseed lose to Fred Flintstone the obese trust fund baby. I’ll know I tried to move IL in the right direction even though many don’t agree.

  3. Someone should also warn Desantis that a corrupt election buying billionaire is moving his corrupt operation to Miami. Enjoy the traffic and heat Ken. Oh nevermind, he will keep his house in IL and just do the 6 month’s 1 day thing in FL during the winter to short IL. LOL

  4. JT, are you voting, then, a second time after having told us you already early voted, then not voting for Tirio?

    If elections are rigged, why….

  5. Monk those bongs you do have convinced you I already voted. You’re a chimp. You happy now that your trolling got a response?

  6. But remember, Piton is unable to provide the proof even though he does. LOL.

  7. Piton plays it just like Team Trump/Juliani.

    Do you have the evidence?

    Yes.

Can you give me the evidence?

    Yes.

    We haven’t got that evidence.

    Yes.

  8. Professional dope smoking troll has opined. Get a life idiot. Delusional fool

  9. I attended the Governor’s 560 AM Debate last Thursday with my spouse and I felt that Gary Rabine was the best candidate (that delivered a dynamite performance with solid knock-out blows to the competition), by exhibiting a unique set of tangibles (the most important of which included the strongest leadership qualities of the bunch), which in turn generated much needed excitement among various folks!!

By the time we realized that we should vote in the straw poll, it was an hour and five minutes later and we were prevented from voting.
