$100,000 Damage to West End Home

From the Crystal Lake Fire/Rescue Department:

STRUCTURE FIRE – 1345 Ivy Ln.

Crystal Lake, IL – The Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department responded to a reported structure
fire at 1:08 pm.

1345 Ivy Lane, Crystal Lake.

The first fire unit on scene arrived in under 6 minutes and reported a fire in a bedroom on the second floor of a two-story, single family home.

The home’s smoke detectors had activated notifying the only occupant of the fire. The occupant escaped without injury and called 911.

The fire was confined to the bedroom.

The home sustained limited smoke damage on the second floor and water damage during extinguishment of the fire.

The fire was declared under control at 1:31 pm.

The structure was deemed uninhabitable until repairs could be made. Damage to the structure
and contents is estimated at $100,000.

There were no injuries to any firefighters or civilians.

The American Red Cross is assisting the occupants.

The cause of the fire is undetermined and under investigation by Crystal Lake Fire Rescue fire
investigators.
