NICKLAUS BURGLARY
Summary: On 03/11/23 at 10:15 PM. we received a phone call from a resident in the 9500 block of Nicklaus. They had just returned home from a long vacation to find that unknown subject(s) had burglarized their residence. Entry was made through a window in the rear of the residence. Taken were a safe and cosmetic jewelry. We have determined that the incident occurred on 03/06/23, the same day as the Longmoor incident. At this time, we have little information about this incident. There is no offender or vehicle description.
General Information: This is the third residential burglary in Lakewood since 01/30/23. This is the fourth residential burglary since 2018. The Lakewood PD continues saturated patrol of those areas and potentially anticipated areas. We are aggressively seeking material resources to combat this problem. We are also seeking information and assistance from outside agencies, all the way to Cook County.
Resident Cooperation: During this tough time, we are looking for cooperation from our residents. There are steps that can be done by residents to assist us in doing our job. Make sure homes are well lit at night in the front and back of the residence. If you have security systems or cameras, make sure that they are operating sufficiently. If you go on vacation, place your residence on a House Watch list. This can be done online through the Village’s website. If you are on vacation and receive a notification on a phone app that something is wrong in your residence, please call the police. If you suspect anything suspicious in your neighborhood, please call us at 815-459-2151 at that time. We are dispatched by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office. After you dial the above number, push #1 for dispatch. If the incident you encounter is serious, please call 911 at that time. If you are on vacation, do not give an indication where you are at on Facebook or other social media outlets. These groups are highly organized, and search for these types of messages.

Maybe lakewood police should spend time in the neighborhoods instead of in lake in the hills and crystal lake.
I have been to the bagel shop many times and there is always a lakewood cop just standing around.
Likewise, when I am at around the clock there are always two lakewood cops.
I went to my grandsons football games in crystal lake and again, you guessed it, always a lakewood cop there too.
I asked the cop at the football game if he was hired by the school for security.
He said he was watching a family member play.
when they are in Lakewood its pulling people over on 47 for one headlight.
