When to Call Your State Rep. or Senator or Both

The short answer is when State government does something stupid.

I was reminded of that while sorting though boxes of old clippings and found this letter to the Chicago Sun-Times from August 26, 1993:

Had I stuck to getting involved only when State government did something stupid, I probably would have had a more peaceful tenure in the Illinois House.

For better or worse, I tried to help people and taxapayers in general when

  • local governments (building the Northern Bypass, the most expensive way to try to relieve traffic congestion at the intersection of Routes 62 and 31) or
  • my legislative leader (think gutting the Tax Cap to allow non-referendum bonds because park district employees in DuPage County walked precincts for him-Lee Daniels–or
  • a Republican Governor (think Jim Edgar when he tried to raise the income tax and only provide part of it for property tax relief and when he vetoed a senior citizen property tax assessment freeze bill for those with lower incomes).

In all four instances cited, I won the battle, but picked up political scar tissue.

  1. This comment is all well and good however when the elected libtards in office only think of them selves wasting our breath or pen is mute…

Now it would be better to contact upper management, like the heads of government, they seem to take notice more so then the pension mongers in this STATE,i.e. Jim Jordan, etc… people that are trying to get something done with this criminal out to lunch regime… let them know that there are many of us out here that are true blue Americans and care about her.
