The turnout for Qasim Rashid, the 11th District Democrat challenging eight-term incumbent Bill Foster for the 2024 nomination was slim at The Other Side coffee bar next to the old City Hall. (I think it is located where fire engines used to be housed.)

This was his second foray into the McHenry County portion of the district.
The first was Stella’s Place in McHenry, where three to four met with the candidate.
At the Crystal Lake location, however, there was one potential voter, a man who has voted Republican in the past.
I had a nice chat with Campaign Manager Ben Goldberg, who was an organizer on Sean Casten’s fall campaign in 2020 and was Organizing Director for Maria Newman when she ran in the 2022 primary against Casten.
Rashid had to take his father to a medical appointment in Plainfield, causing him to be late to the event.
He allowed me to ask questions as he sat drinking his coffee.
When I asked why he was challenging Foster, he replied, “I’m not chjallenging Foster.
” I’m running for the 11th District [nomination].”
Why?
“My values better align ti the Democratic Party than his.
“I think he’s a really nice guy”
When asked Foster’s major accomplishments, Rashid replied, “Voting for Obama Care fourteen years ago.”
He added that Foster had voted appropriately on last session’s signature Democratic Party bills.
When I asked if whether Foster would be willing to debate him, Rashid, an attorney, answered, “I would hope so.
“Why wouldn’t he?”
An official should be willing to defend one’s actions “when you have a record to be proud of.
“I have every reason to expect he would be willing to debate.”
Attending his candidacy announcement last Saturday was McHenry County Democratic Party Vice Chair Ruth Scifo. She, however, lives in Jan Schkowski’s district.
That’s a good little Democrat apparatchik there.
Refuse to attack the people he works with and stay focused on making up shit, about people he doesn’t.

Probably just brutally honest but it’s something of a Freudian slip.
Rashid, by only being able to list Obamacare as Foster’s accomplishment and nothing else, doesn’t consider ANYTHING that Biden did during his first two years with a Democratic House and Democratic Senate, such as the chips act and the inflation reduction act or something regarding COVID, to be significant.
Is that correct: He could only list Obamacare?

Democrats are going on TV every night hollering (with little success convincing people) about how Biden is like the modern man’s FDR while Rashid is out here saying Biden and the Democratic congress did nothing! XD that’s great.

Rashid is a kook but if he is going to keep unwittingly pooing on Democrats, then that is funny and good, especially if he is saying it in this naive but innocent sort of way.
Based on his other answer of I don’t see why Foster (an incumbent) wouldn’t debate, I’m thinking this guy is super naive.
