Back in the Clinton Adminstration, his Federal Railroad Administrator proposed requiring train horns at all crossings.
A hearing was held in the Chicago area at which I testified.
My conclusion was asking the woman for her home phone number.
She was mortified.
“Why should I give it to you?”
“Because when I get called after people get awoked by the late night Metra trains, I want you to realize the problem your proposal is causing” was pretty much my reply.
We won that fight.
