Johnsburg Planning to Obligate Property Owners for Sewer and Water Improvements

The Village Board of Johnsburg will vote upon the following General Obligation Bonding authority at its next meeting:

Move to approve Ordinance 23-24-14 an Ordinance authorizing
the Village of Johnsburg, McHenry County, Illinois, to issue
Water and Sewer Revenue Bonds or, in lieu thereof, General
Obligation Bonds (Alternate Revenue Source) (said bonds being
general obligation bonds to be issued in one or more series, on a
taxable or tax-exempt basis, for which property taxes, unlimited as
to rate or amount, may be levied, but which are expected to be
paid from the net revenues of the waterworks and sewerage system
of said Village) in an aggregate principal amount not to exceed
$5,500,000 for the purpose of paying the costs of financing
various capital improvements to the waterworks and sewerage
system of the Village.

That is quite similar to the arrangement that the Lakewood Village Board passed when it bought its golf course.

The golf course, of course, did not generate enough money to pay off the the debt incurred and homeowners had to pick up the difference.

A difference in Johnsburg is that the Village Board can raise water and sewer rates.

  1. I’d like to donate yesterday’s ‘lunch’ to get the party started.

  2. I believe this may be the end of the towns in northwest Lake and northeast McHenry counties that the water was once owned privately.

We were taxed a special tax for it too.

Our streets were tore up for new water and sewer. It sucks but was overdue

  3. DUCHE isn’t even close enough to call these clowns.

Maybe if hetterman stopped hanging off the local bar stools he may think clearly.

Here’s a new idiotic decision by these douche bags.

They just passed an ordinance that will fine people from $500-$750 for using a bathroom at the municipal center – if you try to do so without being invited there for a reason.

The center paid for by taxpayers that taxpayers technically own!

Can’t wait to see the lawsuits fly on this one, especially ADA level for restricting access to a disabled person that may have IBS, chrones or the like that MUST get to a bathroom immediately if they are having flare ups!
