Joe Walsh Business Forum in Schaumburg Tonight

A press release from Congressman Joe Walsh explaining what he will be doing while President Barack Obama is addressing a Joint Session of Congress:

Rep. Walsh to Host Small Business Forum tonight

Washington, DC. – Tonight, Thursday, September 8, Congressman Joe Walsh (IL-08) will hold a small business job forum back in his district.

Walsh, who is chair of the House Small Business Committee’s Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Tax, and Capital Access and will be flying to Illinois after votes tonight and returning to the Capitol before votes on Friday morning.

A television cameera came to the Woodstock VFW to tape Joe Walsh's Town Hall Meeting.

“I look forward to meeting with small businessmen and women, the real job creators, about creating real jobs.

“They’re the ones who are going to create the jobs, not White House paper-pushers and bureaucrats.

“As chairman of the Small Business Committee’s Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Tax, and Capital Access, I have made it my mission to help American small businesses create jobs and put America back to work.

“I want to find out from them what Washington should be doing or not doing to help them grow their businesses and create new jobs.”

Speaking to constituents in Wauconda

This week I am back in Washington after spending a very productive five weeks back in Illinois listening to you and your concerns.

During the district work-period, I held 13 town hall meetings where I heard from thousands of residents. I even held ten town halls in ten days. At each meeting, the theme was very clear: Americans are fed up with the state of our economy and the over-spending that has driven our debt to a new record high.

I have heard this message loud-and-clear and I am taking it back to Washington to bring real change – not pay lip service.

It is for this reason that I am flying back to Illinois this evening where I will meet with small business owners – instead of standing-in as a prop for the President’s address to Congress.

The President needs to stop the speeches, get out of his office and away from all the White House academics, and start talking to real people out there.

They’re the ones who are going to create the jobs, not White House paper-pushers and bureaucrats.

As chairman of the Small Business Committee’s Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Tax, and Capital Access, I have made it my mission to help American small businesses create jobs and put America back to work.

If you are a small business owner or involved in a small business and are interested in attending this roundtable discussion, please contact my district office at (847) 973-9341 to RSVP. I want to take this opportunity to talk about exactly the challenges and difficult decisions small businesses have to make each and every day.

Thank you for taking the time to read my newsletter and never hesitate to contact me or my office on any issue.

I work for you,

Congressman Joe Walsh, Representing Illinois 8th Congressional District

  1. This is a direct insult to the President of the United States. You are a failure as a representative “of the people” when you leave Washington ON THE TAXPAYERS DIME to attend a forum of white Evangelical NIMBYs. You, sir, with your failure to pay child support and two-faced fiscal irresponsibility are an abomination.
