The Breakers is closed for repairs, but its parking lot was teaming with Crystal Lake Police cars around noon.
I think I counted eight police cars as I drove past The Breakers.
A friend of McHenry County Blog reported that a tanker truck with “Encompass” on the side was at the location when he drove by.
It was not by the time I got my act together.
I wonder if this massive police presence with merit a press release.

The police were looking for people without seat belts and those using cell phones.
I was told that it was a traffic check and they were diverting traffic toards Woodstock into the parking lot

Before the Check point there was an unmarked police writing down peoples lic. plates that turned around.
and when you got to the check point there was an officer trying to intimadate you by eyeballing you down when you passed.
The officer seemed to have a look on his face that you allready did something wrong.
A pretty sad demonstration of tax payer dollars at work.
Ticketing for expired vehicle registrations, maybe?
