Barrington Township: David McSweeney, candidate for State Representative in the 52nd District has been endorsed by four well known Pro-Life organizations.

  • The Illinois Federation for Right to Life,
  • the Illinois Citizens for Life,
  • the Lake County Life PAC, and
  • the Pro-Life Victory PAC of Right to Life of McHenry County

have all endorsed McSweeney within the past week.

“We are pleased to announce our endorsement of Dave McSweeney as Republican candidate for the fifty-second Illinois House District,” reads the release from the Illinois Federation for Right to Life PAC. In a release from the Illinois Citizens for Life,

“Additionally, we believe that you are the only pro-life candidate that can win the 52nd House District seat and return it back to representing the pro-life district constituents of the district”.

“Based upon his stance on Life issues, his strengths as a candidate, and his willingness to defend the dignity of every human being on issues presented before the General Assembly, we believe that David McSweeney is uniquely qualified to serve the people of the 52nd House District in Springfield. We urge all pro-life voters in the District to give him their support,” read a Lake County Life PAC statement.

“The Pro-Life Victory PAC examines three factors in the decision to endorse candidates:  Their stand on Life issues, their track record on Life issues, and their electoral viability.  “On all of these counts, Dave McSweeney has been a standout,” said Irene Napier, founder of Right to Life McHenry County,” read a release from the Pro Life Victory PAC.

“I am proud to receive the endorsement of these grassroots Pro-Life organizations. Their support of my campaign and the energy that comes with that support will carry us to victory in the March Primary and then the November General Election,” said David McSweeney.

McHenry County Blog today presents the May, 2011, bills from Quest International.

Special Prosecutors Thomas McQueen and Henry Tonigan, plus Quest International investigator Robert Scigalski appear at a press conference to announce the second indictment of Lou Bianchi. Photo by First Electric Newspaper.

As the prosecution awaits the second trial of McHenry County State’s Attorney Lou Bianchi, investigator Robert Scigalski isn’t given a lot of work to do. Just 9.5 hours are billed, totaling $1,282.50. Although mentioned, Quest investigator Patrick Hanretty bills nothing.

The details follow:

5-5-11 7.25 hours – Per instructions of McQueen, prepare ordered discovery material involving reviewing all docs, copying, copying data disks and reporting results.

5-25-11 1.25 hours – Travel to Tonigan’s office as requested by McQueen for 3:30 meeting and return

Pro-Lifers Mail Post Cards in Local Elections

April 07, 2009 By: Cal Skinner Category: Grafton Township, Grafton Township Supervisor, John Jung, John Rossi, Linda Moore, Pat Mazzanti. Pro Life Victory Committee, Paula Yensen, Pro-Life, Right to Life McHenry County, Spring Grove

First is was a post card in support of Republican candidate for Grafton Township Supervisor Linda Moore.

She was challenging incumbent Township Supervisor John Rossi and won by 31 votes. Undoubtedly one could say that without the pro-life endorsement post card, Moore would have lost. (And, of course, that can be said about every other element of the campaign. That’s the way it is with close elections.)

Pro-Lifers have a political action committee in McHenry County. You may remember that I attended a pig roast at Resurrection Center last June that the PAC sponsored.

In any event, Rossi supported Democrat Paula Yensen in her successful McHenry County Board challenge of pro-life candidate John Jung. No one has ever suggested Yensen is pro-life.

Now, a post card (sorry about the poor quality of the faxed copy) has been sent out from Right to Life McHenry County in support of Spring Grove village trustee candidate Pat Mazzanti.

It says,

“I’d like to introduce myself, Pat Mazzanti, as a pro-life candidate for Spring Grove Village Trustee. I have been married for 27 years to my wife, Peggy, and have two fantastic children, Rocco and Lily. I have been involved in Village (planning and zoning – 6 yrs.), local activities (4th of July and RBBA over 10 yrs., live in the community longer than any other candidate (16 yrs.) and have only the intersts of our pristine community at heart. I welcome your calls at 815-353-?268 to discuss any questions you might have. I kindly ask you to support me with your BULLET VOTE (vote for ONLY one) at the polls on April 7th. Pro-life officials are important at every level of government. I look forward to my continued service to the community of Spring Grove.

“Pat and Peggy Mazzanti
“Endorsed by Sue and Dan Serdar, Right to Life, McHenry County”

Sue Serdar is head of the chairwoman of the Pro Life Victory Committee.

Here’s a photo of Serdar with presidential candidate John McCain. You can see former U.S. Senator Peter Fitzgerald in the background.
