Giraffe Meets Greyhound

November 01, 2008 By: Cal Skinner Category: Alien, Black Cat, Gladiator, Halloween, Kimona, South School, Superman

This 20-month old giraffe was fascinated with the Kaiser’s greyhound before Crystal Lake South Elementary School’s Halloween Parade yesterday.

There were so many cute costumes.

Here’s a boy dressed as a gladiator. He was also enchanted by the dog with her witch hat.

And, how about the cute little black cat?

Superman and a girl clad in a kimono passed by next.

Our little alien made an appearance.

Message of the Day – A License Plate

June 12, 2007 By: Cal Skinner Category: Metropolis, Superman

This license plate celebrates a community festival in the other end of Illinois.

Way down south.

Metropolis.

The home of Superman.

Amazingly enough, I found it on Chapel Hill Road in McHenry on June 1st.

Commemorative license plates like these must have the date on which they are to be removed. You can see that this one is supposed to disappear from the rear of the car on June 10th, the last day of the festival.
